UWAS Membership

     Note: Please download the form here, print it, fill it up, email to with the scan copy or photo of the filled form (without member fee cheque). Once UWAS ExCo approves your application, you will be contact for completing the process.         

Joining University Women's Association, Singapore (UWAS) is open to all women who have earned a degree from a recognized institution of postsecondary learning.

Members enjoy a variety of activities and programmes provided by UWAS:

  • Study and Action Programme and Projects
  • Training
  • International Advocacy
  • Networking
  • Fellowship and Grants
  • Conferences

In addition, members enjoy membership discount on talks, seminars, workshops and conferences organised by UWAS.

  • The annual subscriptions for Ordinary and Associate Members will be $60.00 per year, or any other sum decided at an Annual General Meeting (AGM).
  • For students who join as an Associate Member, the annual subscription will be S$30.00 per year.
  • Ordinary and Associate Members who join on or after 1st July need only pay a half year subscription.

Membership in UWAS brings membership with the Graduate Women International (GWI) (Former International Federation of University Women, IFUW), an international non-governmental organization (NGO) of over 160,000 women university graduates from seventy-nine national federations and associations throughout the world.

IFUW affiliation in turn offers the possibility to:

Influence policy and legislation on women's issues at the international level

➢ Gain an international perspective on women's issues

➢ Be part of an influential international non-governmental organisation

➢ Access an international network of educated women around the world

➢ Participate in regional and global IFUW conferences, seminars and training

➢ Access academic and professional opportunities, including networking, internships and career development

➢ Have the opportunity to apply for international fellowship grants

➢ Be supported to move into leadership roles

Membership in UWAS also brings membership with Singapore Council of Women's Organisations (SCWO), an umbrella body covering more than 45 women's organisations representing more than 150,000 women in the Republic. The combined global and national network is clearly immense. To be a member of UWAS is indeed a privilege.

Annual subscriptions are payable on 1 January.All payments for membership are to be made together with the approved membership application. Payment shall be refunded if the membership application is rejected.

2 Days, 1-Night Stay Desaru + Malacca Trip

Adult's Rate: $160(member), $180(non-member)
Child's Rate: $140(with bed), $120(no bed) Note: fees payable on day of event after registration has been accepted.

Cross borders beneath lukewarm rays of the morning sun, and fuel up for the day's adventure with a hearty breakfast at a local coffee shop. Head to the tour's first stop, the Desaru Fruit Farm. Stroll through the mini zoo and fragrant orchards of the Desaru Fruit Farm and sit down to durian feast accompanied by local fruit, fried Bee Hoon, and chicken curry.

At Malacca, enjoy the Authentic Nonya Food and stroll down to Jonker Street for the local Pasar Malam. After having a delicate dinner, take a short distance walk to the small port and enjoy a breezing cruise along the fun lighting Malacca River.

We are checking into Swiss Residence Hotel, the tallest hotel in Malacca. Overlooking the historical Melaka River and offer direct access to the The Shore Shopping Mall and Shore Oceanarium Complex.

Next morning, tour around Malacca with a trishaw ride (at own expense), then head towards a local restaurant for a sumptuous lunch. After saying 'Goodbye' to Malacca, we are going back to JB. Stop at Pandan Wholesale Market to purchase your delight and local fruits, then proceed to Sentosa for your favourite 'Herbal Chicken'.
