In July 2016, UWAS organised a 2 Day 1 Night Desaru & Malacca Trip and members and friends participated in this event to enjoy the delicious Malaysian cuisine and experience the rich heritage of Malacca.
Members started the trip with a tour at Desaru Fruit Farm, where they enjoyed a durian feast, along with fresh fruits from the orchard.
At Malacca, it is definitely a must to have a taste of the local authentic Nonya food. Members enjoyed a meal of Nonya cuisine and took a stroll at the local Pasar Malam at Jonker Street to immerse themselves in the local culture and heritage.
Members checked into Swiss Residence Hotel to have their rest at the end of the day.
Members also had the chance to take a trishaw ride and go shopping for local delights.
Overall, the trip has been fun-filled experience for both the young and elderly. We hope to see you at the next event!
