Description: A public course on Basic Computer Skills & knowledge offered to Seniors in the community. UWAS’ objective is to enable seniors to learn computer skills on a 1 to 1 basis where one senior is paired with one volunteer assistant trainer.
Participants: Seniors in the Community
Cost: Minimal depending on venue rental
Venue: ITE Central
Class size: ±30 participants
Sessions: 4 classes (either English or Mandarin) per module
Age group: Seniors and those with limited or no computer skills
We need UWAS members to help fund and/or join UWAS as trainers & assistant trainers
Due to popular demand, our IT circle trainers have already conducted another 3 rounds of 4 sessions each for senior participants this year.
Feedback received from ITE’s program coordinator: “ Participants were impressed that UWAS trainers provided personalised support and one-on-one coaching. They truly enjoyed the course and would like to thank all trainers & UWAS for offering not only great learning sessions to increase the IT knowledge of Seniors in a friendly, non-threatening environment.
