Fluorite flotation separation technology

Fluorite flotation is an important mineral processing technology, which can effectively separate fluorite from other gangue minerals and improve the grade of fluorite to meet the needs of industrial applications.

There are three main mineral processing technologies for fluorite: hand selection, gravity selection and flotation. Among them, flotation has become the main method for separating fluorite from gangue minerals. Fluorite can be divided into quartz-fluorite type ore, calcite-fluorite type ore, sulfide fluorite type ore and barite-fluorite type ore according to the different gangue minerals, each with different flotation processes.

The flotation process of quartz-fluorite type ore usually adopts a process flow of primary grinding and rough selection, re-grinding of coarse concentrate and multiple selection, using sodium carbonate as a regulator, fatty acids as collectors, and water glass to inhibit silicate gangue minerals.

The flotation of calcite-fluorite type ore requires adjusting the pH value of the slurry and selecting appropriate collectors and inhibitors to achieve the separation of fluorite and calcite.

The flotation technology of sulfide fluorite ores is mainly based on flotation, which preferentially floats out sulfide ores, and then uses fatty acid reagents to select fluorite multiple times. The flotation process of barite-fluorite ores may use mixed flotation to obtain mixed concentrates, and then separate them.

In the study of fluorite flotation reagents, it has been found that the flotation separation of fluorite and calcite can be effectively achieved by adding new inhibitors. The research on room-temperature flotation reagents is also in progress, aiming to solve the flotation problem of difficult-to-treat fluorite ores at room temperature, including the modification and development of existing fluorite flotation collectors and the development of new room-temperature flotation reagents.

In general, the development of fluorite flotation technology is of great significance to improving the utilization efficiency of fluorite resources and meeting industrial needs. With the deepening of research, the development of new reagents and the optimization of flotation processes will continue to promote the progress of fluorite beneficiation technology.
