High-purity quartz sand, as quartz sand with a silicon content of more than 99.9%, plays an irreplaceable role in the high-tech industry due to its excellent physical and chemical properties. This high-purity quartz sand not only has extremely high temperature resistance, but also has excellent chemical stability, electrical insulation and light transmittance. With the development of science and technology, the demand for high-purity quartz sand is increasing, and the optimization and innovation of the purification process have become particularly important.
Raw material selection: the starting point of purification
The purification of high-purity quartz sand begins with the selection of raw materials. The original high-purity quartz was mainly extracted from natural crystals, but with the depletion of resources and the increase in industrial demand, people began to look for sources of high-purity quartz from other quartz ores such as quartzite, quartz sandstone and vein quartz. These ores pose different challenges to the purification process due to their different geological characteristics and chemical composition.
Physical purification: preliminary separation
Physical purification is the first step in the preparation of high-purity quartz sand. It mainly removes mineral impurities existing in monomers through processes such as scrubbing, desludging, gravity separation, magnetic separation and flotation. These processes can effectively reduce the content of impurity elements and lay the foundation for subsequent chemical purification.
Scrubbing and desludging: remove the dirt and adhering impurities on the surface of quartz sand through the action of physical force.
Gravity separation: use gravity separation technology to separate quartz and heavy minerals according to density differences.
Magnetic separation: remove magnetic impurities in quartz sand, such as iron minerals.
Flotation: through the action of chemical agents, quartz and non-quartz minerals have different surface properties and are separated.
Chemical purification: deep purification
Although the impurity content of quartz sand after physical purification is already low, in order to meet the standards of high-purity quartz sand, it still needs to be deeply purified by chemical methods.
Acid treatment: use acid to leach quartz sand to remove metal impurity ions, such as Fe, Al, etc.
Alkali treatment: Quartz sand is treated with alkaline solution to remove acidic impurities.
Salt treatment: Impurities in quartz sand are further removed by treatment with salt solution.
Heat treatment: Quartz sand is treated at high temperature to remove impurities in inclusions or lattices.
Process control: precision and stability
The purification process of high-purity quartz sand requires precise control to ensure the consistency and stability of the product. This includes strict control of the grinding pump pool level, classification pressure, overflow particle size and concentration. Through automated control systems and real-time monitoring technology, process parameters can be optimized and purification efficiency can be improved.
