The hand selection method is based on the large difference in color and appearance between spodumene and gangue minerals. It is suitable for sorting raw ores containing a lot of waste rock and is often used as a pre-selection operation before sorting. , but also due to shortcomings such as high labor intensity, low recovery rate, and poor mineral processing indicators, it has been gradually replaced by mechanical mineral processing methods.
The heavy medium method is a kind of gravity separation method. It uses heavy suspension as the separation medium and uses equipment to achieve the purpose of separation. The difference in density between spodumene and gangue minerals is not obvious. Using general Methods such as jigging and shaking tables have unsatisfactory results. The separation density of the heavy medium method can be precisely controlled and can effectively separate minerals with small density differences. However, medium preparation, medium extraction and medium regeneration require a complete set of facilities, which is relatively quite complicated.
Spodumene is a weakly magnetic mineral, and magnetic separation can be used as an auxiliary operation to improve the quality of spodumene concentrate.
The spodumene flotation method is an earlier separation method that has been researched and applied. It is also the main separation method of spodumene at present. It can be divided into two processes: forward flotation and reverse flotation.
Positive flotation is the priority flotation of spodumene. The general process is to grind the qualified ore, add high-concentration sodium hydroxide or sodium carbonate and other alkaline agents, stir vigorously, and wash the ore and desludge multiple times, and then add a collector to float it directly. Selecting spodumene, pre-sliming and strong stirring and scrubbing can effectively enhance the surface purity of the mineral, thus improving the collection effect. Therefore, the over-grinding effect should be minimized during the grinding process.
Reverse flotation uses a regulator to suppress spodumene in an alkaline medium, and a collector to float out the gangue minerals, leaving the spodumene concentrate in the tank.
When a single mineral processing method cannot achieve better mineral processing indicators, you can choose to use a combination of multiple mineral processing methods for separation. It is often used to improve the grade of spodumene concentrate, obtain low-iron spodumene concentrate, and sort and recover it. Associated minerals, etc. Commonly used processes include float-magnetic combined process, float-gravity-magnetic combined process, etc.
The associated minerals of spodumene in nature are complex. In order to obtain better economic and environmental benefits, mineral processing experiments can be conducted to determine the optimal mineral processing process.
