Tungsten ore beneficiation process: Tungsten ore raw ore preparation operations include crushing and screening, grinding and classification. 1. Tungsten ore crushing process flow

The tungsten ore mined from the mine is very lumpy. The maximum size of ore blocks mined in the open pit is 1000mm~1500mm, and the maximum size of tungsten ore blocks mined underground is 300mm~600mm. Such large ores cannot be sorted directly, because the useful minerals and useful minerals in it cannot be sorted directly. Tungsten minerals and gangue minerals are closely symbiotic.

In order to separate them from each other, that is, to achieve individual separation, after the tungsten ore is sent to the dressing plant, it is first crushed to a certain particle size, and then sent to the grinding machine for grinding. The type of crusher used in a tungsten ore concentrator mainly depends on the properties of the ore, the production capacity of the concentrator and the particle size of the crushed products, etc. The coarse crushing of tungsten ore generally uses jaw crusher or gyratory crusher. Standard and short-head cone crushers are mostly used for medium and fine crushing. In a few cases, double-roller crushers are also used for crushing. To deal with soft ore, a crusher with impact effect is generally used for crushing.

2. Tungsten ore screening process

The process of dividing loose materials into different particle sizes through screens is called screening. In mineral processing plants, screening is mostly combined with crushing operations. Before the tungsten ore enters a certain section of the crusher, qualified tungsten ore whose particle size meets the requirements is pre-separated. This kind of screening is called pre-screening. It can not only prevent over-crushing of ore, but also increase the productivity of the crusher. When the tungsten ore contains high moisture content and a large amount of fine ore, it can also avoid clogging of the crusher. After the ore is crushed by the crusher, screening is used to check the particle size of the crushed products, so that unqualified large tungsten ore particles are returned to the crushing operation and crushed again. This screening is called inspection screening. It can give full play to the crusher's capabilities.

3. Tungsten ore grinding process

Grinding is the continuation of the tungsten ore crushing process. Its purpose is to separate all or most of the various useful mineral particles in the tungsten ore into individual particles for separation, and to make the particle size meet the requirements of the separation operation.

Tungsten ore grinding operations are usually carried out in a cylindrical grinding machine, and the cylinder is generally equipped with grinding media, such as steel balls, steel rods or gravel, etc. The grinding machine equipped with steel balls is a ball mill; the one equipped with steel rods is a rod mill; and the one equipped with gravel is a gravel mill. If there is no other media installed in the grinding machine and only the ore is ground by itself, it is called a media-less grinding machine or an autogenous grinding machine; adding an appropriate amount of steel balls to the autogenous grinding machine constitutes a so-called semi-autogenous grinding machine. 

The specifications of the mill are expressed by the diameter of the cylinder multiplied by the length. Tungsten ore grinding operations are mainly wet grinding, and generally form a closed loop with a mechanical classifier; dry grinding is also used. No matter which type of grinding machine is used for grinding, their working principles are basically the same during the grinding process. They all use media (or the ore itself) to impact and grind the materials to be ground.

4. Tungsten ore classification process

In the medium, the process of dividing materials into several particle size levels according to their different settling speeds is called classification. The purpose of classification and screening is the same, which is to divide the mineral particles into different particle size levels, but their working principles and product particle size characteristics are different. Screening is strictly based on geometric particle size separation; classification is based on their different sedimentation speeds in the medium.
